Saffron Flat Bread

Medium-Easy | Serves 4


  • 2 Generous pinches of Saffron Strands
  • 100 ml of hot water
  • 250 g Plain flour, extra for dusting
  • 3 Tbsp Olive oil
  • Sea Salt
  • Freshly ground pepper


  1. Grind Saffron in fine powder with mortar and pestle. Soak in 100 ml of hot water for 10 minutes
  2. Mix flour and olive oil in mixing bowl. Add pinch of salt and pepper
  3. Add in steeped Saffron and its water and mix thoroughly
  4. Divide dough to 4 pieces. Roll out each piece on a floured surface to a round of 2 - 3 mm thickness
  5. On a large skillet over medium heat, spray non-stick oil. Place each piece of rolled dough to cook for 1 - 2 minutes until golden
  6. Serve warm with Ujong Saffron Kaya and Cheese
